Is the contact on the moving arm missing or is it an optical illusion?
I don't know, the hole on one side of the contacts fits over the contact on the other side, and I can't see any evidence that suggests there was any more to this ?

But yes, I was expecting to see something that resembled the "Points" that you would get on a petrol engine.

That being the case, then the switch is defective. At this stage I'd say your best bet is to buy a new motor.

That being the case, then the switch is defective. At this stage I'd say your best bet is to buy a new motor.

I'd be surprised if a new centrifugal switch is not available.
