please help, the two way switch in my hallway is not working, i took the switch plate off and i have found a loose red wire, but i don't where to connect it to. see photo

Umm - where's the earth connection for that metal switch?
Looks like it's wired in to the back box although it's just green sleeving rather than yellow and green - I suppose theoretically it's earthing the faceplate through either directly contacting it or via the screws holding the faceplate on but I wouldn't want to rely on it!
