I am not actually going to do this re-wiring myself, but don't want to look a complete idiot when I speak to the electrician.

In a 1930s house with fantastic original light switches, etc., is it possible to re-use these when the house is re-wired?

Many thanks

Fliss

It is very unlikely that the old ones will meet current standards.
Your electrician is required to provide accessories that meet these.

He might be able to get similar looking replicas which comply with current standards

There is a company that makes them, and they've been mentioned on the forum before - dunno where or what the company is though...
