Hi all! I will be building a media wall in our new house pretty soon. I pretty much know what I'm going to do, however, I have been looking at RGBW strips and I can't find any kits that would suit my needs. Basically I need 4 x 1m strips for the shelves and around 3m to go behind the TV (TV will be recessed with around a 1" gap all the way round.) These would need to be wired in parallel with a power supply and LED driver. I would like the driver to work with the Smartlife/Tuya app if possible. I'm guessing I will have to get the bits separately which is fine. I'm just not sure what size power supply and driver I would need to run 7m of RGBW strips. I see there are 12v and 24v variations? Any ideas or links would be great! Here is a very rough drawing of how it will look. Thanks in advance!

Never fitted them before but having looked at the strips they all come with a W/m rating, so sizing the driver is as simple as adding up your total metreage and multiplying by the rating. I'd probably add 20% and round up to the nearest available size so the driver isn't running full tilt all the time. 24V is probably preferable as it'll have a lower volt drop for the same sized cable.

There are also 5 V USB versions.

If you look at this site for a start (and go on from there) you should be able to obtain most of the items which you seek.

The Current/Wattage is usually not stated.
However, if a Power Supply is included, one would expect that it would be rated for the LEDs to be supplied.

You may need to order connectors and wires separately.
If you order different products from different sources at the same time,
usually the Postage Charge will be minimal - or even free for over about (USD)$10 equivalent-
and the items will be sent in the same combined package.

RGBW strips are usually 4-wire, with the White being a combination of RGB.
RGBWW strips are 5-wire, with the extra White LEDS (Probably, not required.)

In the kitchen I have Lidi, they were in a protected strip so unlikely to get damaged. But in the Living room inside the Billy bookcases I have used TCP lamps, a little frail, but inside the display cabinet so unlikely to be damaged, and easier to thread.

The problem is colour temperature, the colour LED's not a problem, but the high and low colour temperature LED's are not one item, so you can see the two LED's so really want to be just the light you see, not the LED its self.

Second is control, last house I built a bookcase/display cabinet with lights, but so much hassle to turn on and off, after a year no longer used. In this house, I have voice control with Nest Mini speakers.
