Richard Tice and Isobel Oakshott move to Dubai

Start moaning about how much tax you have to pay for UK security.... move to tax haven, get bombed, scream at the UK for security and rescue...

Why are we paying for it ? They made their choice let them enjoy their choice.

I'm surprised any of these 'celebs' and 'influencers' want to come back here. After all they think it (the UK) is an unsafe sh1thole, so I'm assuming any that are leaving Dubai will be going elsewhere until it's safe for them to return to Dubai?

As for Oakshott, she amongst others are hunkering down I think? I wonder how long that'll last if things ramp up over there.

Let's suppose a person who was born in Britain, educated in Britain, owns a British business operating in Britain and selling its products to British Customers in Britain, and owns a country house and estate in Britain, says that, really, he lives in Monte Carlo and has severed his relationship with Britain, therefore he doesn't pay tax here.

If his mansion catches fire, or is burgled, rather than being a burden on the British taxpayer, I think perhaps he should phone the Monte Carlo fire service and police, and ask for their help.

As a foreigner, he has no right to sit in the House of Lords, or vote, or lobby the government to protect his interests or give him profitable contracts through the back door,

Probably not the best example since he will still be paying council tax for the services you describe and will likely be subject to a 100% non-uk resident premium.

Its ironic that Kieth won't properly tax the wealthy ex pat dodgers when so may of them support re forms tax policies. Whose vote does he lose doing it?

I'm in favour of the ex-pats paying for their flights and any appropriate VAT. The reality is most will be off somewhere else pretty quick.
I know, I take the opposite view- that we shouldn’t distinguish who needs help on the grounds of their tax status. But public opinion is pretty angry about them and it’s an opportunity for Kieth to reform ex pats tax regime, if only politically to see off the Green onslaught.

A UK person with an income from his UK business of millions of pounds a year would be paying quite a lot of income tax, if he did not declare himself to be resident in Monaco.

I'm surprised you didn't know that,

Will he be using any property in the U.K. to run his multimillion pound business? Will he be employing British people in his British business?
