Richard Tice and Isobel Oakshott move to Dubai

The rich give money to government to influence policy for their advantage.

The rich say to the Conservatives and Reform: “we will give you lots of lobby money if you tell the voters that taxes must stay low for the wealthy like us or we will leave”

The billionaire owning Telegraph, Daily Mail, Daily Express, The Times, The Spectator are very happy to push this narrative.
So what?

It's the way society has always worked across all countries. Rightly or wrongly, it's our modus operandi and it won't change.

Musck has given a quarter of billion to the campaign and will expect billions to fund his flights to Mars. All money that could have been spent on Americas poor Republican voters

Rightly or wrongly, life and the way money is distributed doesn't work that way.

If I'm an extremely successful businessman and want to influence decisions in my direction, and reckon I can achieve this by using money, I'm not thinking 'this £x could be better spent on the needy.'

But the billions he is expecting from the Government could be spent in a better way.

So we mustn't recognise it, and try to alter some f the impact?

We can change, albeit slowly

You do realise that not a cent dollar is actually spent on Mars --- right ?

“Across all countries”

This is yet another example of attempting to reduce politics to a simplistic binary argument and rendering it meaningless.

U.K. + USA have weak political systems and both have far higher levels of wealth inequality.

There are plenty of Western countries that have far lower wealth inequality, better standards of living for the majority and better public services……why can’t we strive to be more like those?

Why is that? If a million disgruntled Tories are fleeing the UK with their wealth, that's a pretty big number to claim, wouldn't you say?
Who said they were disgruntled tories?

If you were in the top 1% of earners. Would you fancy living 2-3 years overseas and save 1/2 a million in tax?

And still want all the benefits of your nation

As long as you don't have to pay for them

You're trying to tell me the age old traits of power and greed have been eradicated in those countries?
