Hi all,

can anyone tell me what causes the ridges to appear between sheets of plasterboard on the ceiling after they've been skimmed (usually about 2-3 mm x 2-3 mm along the line of the edge of the board).

I've seen them re-taped over and recovered with jointing compound (all on top of the original finish) only to reappear again shortly afterwards.

What causes it and how do i get rid of it?

Cheers for your help.

Hib

(I've posted this in the plastering section as well - just to be sure)

Cheers fellas, i got my answer on the other section.

I also sincerely apologise for any sensibilities that may have been offended.

Nevertheless, Joe-90 and Roughcaster - i'm sure we all feel thoroughly edified by your crusade for orthodoxy. Keep up the good work ;)

(Sorry mods - i needed a quick answer)

Double posting only confuses the issue. It won't get you a quicker answer.

If I ever catch up with you I'll give you a Chinese Burn!

I usually have Kung Pao chicken, but i'm willing to experiment :)
