Having read a number of postings about fused/unfused spurs, I thought I better ask about my situation.
I live in a dormer bungalow built in 1970.
It has a ring main supplying the downstairs sockets and the sockets in the two upstairs bedrooms (one each side of each room) are fed via single 2.5mm cables run vertically up from a socket below in the downstairs ring.
Is this safe? Or does it depend on the loads taken by appliances plugged in?

Yes this way of installing is safe (if they are individually spurred from a socket on a ring). You shouldn't expect any heavy loads in a bedroom. Are there any other socket circuits upstairs?

Thanks Sparkyspike

Yes, they are individually spurred from sockets on the downstairs ring. There are no other power circuits upstairs.

The boss's hair drier or straighteners are the only "heavy" loads in the bedroom.
