...but no one knows why.
So this will become an inaccessible junction then ?
Several things wrong here :
1) If a junction is inaccessible then it must used maintenance free connectors - such as Wago in the correct enclosure.
2) Even if boxed in, it needs the cover on - which you can't do if the cables don't use the entry holes provided.
3) Tape is not acceptable where sleeving is required. Though to be fair, a lot of installations are missing green/yellow sleeving on bare CPCs, and even more are mssing red (old) or brown (newer) sleeving on switched line cores.
