Hi all,

Any suggestions about the quickest way to chop out 15mm copper pipes as have decided to start the new heating system by chopping out the old one ?

Am thinking long handled lopping shears - do you think that'll do the job

and yes I have a hacksaw - but any suggestions welcome

As this is you again steve and i am sure your a windup merchant, i would suggest the quickest way to get rid of the copper pipe is to leave all your doors open and lift all the floor boards and send a letter free cooper to the local cooper *****'s you'll lose your flat screen but trust me there wont be one iota of copper left!!!!

Trust me i left a cylinder that was a hard 2 man lift outside a flat the other day for about 5 minutes came back and it was gone!!

well it has been said once or twice that i may on occasion do things of the winding up kind .... and that whole tap connector for gas thing ....

but I may end up ripping out the heating in our place (which is probably within my capabilities!) - and I may end up running the pipes and rads for the new system (which probably isn't  )

so it is a serious question. I've got one of those rotary cutter jobbies (and a hacksaw) but theres quite a lot of pipes to remove so was wondering if there were any top tips (actually i find just bending the pipes back and forwards works quite well , but not so well under the floors!)

One of these is useful. Especially on 3" copper.
Though I prefer the Makita.

A battery one would be quicker Balski, saves time plugging it in

The quickest pipe cutter is a 9" 750w angle grinder.

As a totally serious giver of advice, I think anyone who makes these wind up postings for their own warped idear of fun should be banned from posting on here for three months!

They should go back to the Beano or Dandy!

Ignite the house and in just a few short hours you'll be able to collect the copper from the ashes

At 750w it wouldn't last very long . :(
The smallest 9" you would be going for these days from a reputable manufacturer is about 2000w. Not good in tight spaces which is where the recipro saw wins. :)
