Rising corporate profits account for almost half the increase in Europe’s inflation

Given the title why was that allowed to happen under the watch of the EU.?
If you had the will to forget all about politics & concentrate on economics instead, then maybe you'd understand.

Inflation has nothing whatsoever to do with what you think it does.

Is it because, contrary to your fantasy, each country is free to do as it pleases except in those matters where they have collectively agreed on a united policy?
You believe that? each country is free to do as it pleases?

What do you believe?

Your question seems to be predicated on two false assumptions

1) The EU has responsibility for inflation in Europe

2) the EU has powers to control business activity in member States

Both are false

And you have drawn a false conclusion

And your question is nonsense

You constantly spout nonsense.

So let's look at the legislation that the eu have enacted to open up the markets within the nation states of the EU.
So it doesn't control business in as you say. In fact it does what your say, it gives carte blanche too the corporates to trade as of their want.

Is that supposed to support the false assumptions in your question?

You would say that, it's what you do.
Answer this assumption you presume.
What happens when you introduce competition laws across the board in a coalition of nation states signed up to be a member of said coalition.
You wing it and draw up your own interpretation of the directives the executive introduce?

No, I believe that

contrary to your fantasy, each country is free to do as it pleases except in those matters where they have collectively agreed on a united policy

Which is not the same thing.

Your not aware of the power of suggestion then and how that manifests itself.
Ignorance is bliss so they say, enjoy it while it lasts.

Could you, for our benefit, list the 'matters' where each country can do as it pleases, obviously these 'matters' are not covered my the Maastrich Treaty.
