rising damp

hi
just got a property in bulgaria but it has a problem with damp. theirs no damp proof course and the building is sat on a concrete pad foundation, any idea on how to stop the dampness and/or install a damp proof course pls help

you can buy paint on damp proofing obviously the flooring needs to come up to do this, and i`d put a vent in, just to the outside to let it breath
 
Hi rob....Is it a cavity wall..how thick is the wall, is it a solid floor. one way is to take a large bladed grinder and grind out (as low to the floor as possible) about 500mm at a time and push a new damp proof into the cut, and wedge the cut up with slate or resin up the cut, but remember to leave enough room to slightly over lap the damp proof on each cut. carry on until all walls are done. this is an old method takes time and causes mess. but in my opinion is the best method for a diyer.
