I come into conflict with cyclists daily, complete set of entitled knobs. I also come into conflict with car drivers daily, complete set of entitled knobs, I get into conflict daily with pedestrians who are another set of entitled knobs. I am convinced I should be the only one on the roads.

Evidence is a far better guide than the right wing media. But I get why people don't like facts that conflict with their world view.

The number of times I read abut a cyclist getting killed on the road, and people in the comments section complain about cyclists going through red lights etc. You never come across the same attitude with pedestrians (who also cross road when the a crossing is on red for them), or car drivers, who break the highway code more often, and kill far more people.

We need to start treating deaths and injuries on the road as immoral events that should be learnt from and address the root causes. We do this at work, so there is no reason we shouldn't have the same respect for life on the street. This is how the Dutch have such great cycle lanes.
