Well my project for the weekend was to install a new ceiling mounted extractor fan. Its now Sunday and its finished - only a small amount of blood loss too, and one extra hole that I didn't need.

The problem is there is now a great roaring sound as the fan extracts air. The fan itself is silent until I put the ducting on.

How do I get rid of this ROARING!? The fan does not have a speed control only timer. Is on a 3P Isolation switch too.

Any help would be great.

Dam wish I had your crystal ball. Yes it is foil 150mm!

Where would I get the smooth 150mm ducting?

no crystal ball.. ribbed tube = turbulance, turbulance = noise..
simples..

you can get it all over the place, B&Q, toolstation, screwfix etc..
