roca dual flush cistern

Had to buy a replacement Roca Laura cistern for my new house, managed to install it ok. However, when I press the flush button down then release, the toilet flushes but the mechanism seems to `thump` back down on the bottom of the cistern. Any advice on how to stop this happening? Or is this a `feature` of this model?

Been plagued by this for at least the past 6 months, had it apart a dozen times, pain in the backside. Problem is that the mechanisms poor construction means that even the slightest bit of friction stops it dropping down and fully closing the valve (rubber washer) at the bottom. I placed a stone about the size of an egg on top of the 'piston' this has an unwanted side effect, in that both flushes are now the short flush, however if you press and hold the flush button for a bit longer you get the full flush. Price worth paying from my perspective as I just can't find a replacement anywhere!

Hope this helps someone

After having the post flush trickles and removing the Roca cistern lid, I could see no problem, but removed the mechanism, examined and reinstalled.

Upon replacing the buttons they now sat about 4mm lower than the surround, but at least the post flush leak had gone.

Problem then was that you couldn't depress the buttons far enough to get a decent flush.

My solution was to simply cut a couple of short lengths of silver steel round bar and but a tiny piece of masking tap on one end of them to hold them in place inside the button tubes, to make up the shortfall.
