I've used Rockwool slabs in my old house restoration for years in internal walls and warm roof attics etc. It's always come in a white shrink wrap and just looks like I've always thought rockwool should. I prefer it to working with glass wool.

I've had more delivered yesterday from my usual Jewson supplier but this time it's in red shrink wrap and says acoustic insulation on the side.

I called my Jewson branch to query it and they have said it's just a marketing change and is the same stuff as used to come in the white wrap.

This true?

I'm more than happy it's got good acoustic properties that's one of the reasons I have always used Rockwool but I am thermally insulating my house first and foremost.

Thanks

There are specific product types for specific uses - cavity slabs are different to acoustic slabs for instance, despite them looking the same.

Go by the product code not the colour of the wrapping.
