Has anyone got a roller mortice deadlock on their front door - as the sole lock? If so, are there any good or bad things about it, and using it? Noise when pulling the door too, or does the door actually stay shut?

I'm looking for a solution that would not need a lever or knob on the outside face of an external door

How are you going to shut the door from the outside?

If you are still going to have a grab handle look up a multipoint automatic slam lock.

They work nice when fitted perfectly, as you have no real leverage to pull the door into seals other than adjustment in the strike plates.

You also have to ensure you door slab is suitable constructed so it will not bow meaningfully.

Current door just has a sash lock with levers and mortice lock. It has always just been closed on the latch and people come and go, and it is only locked at night.

As the plan is to do away with a lever handle on the outside, the door still needs to stay closed and useable without a key to get in
