Hi, this is my first post to the site, so a big hi to every1 for a start. a little question for any1 that has any knowledge... i am in a little project of half converting my loft, its only a small loft, just want to make a little space for my sons train set up there. the main problem is that there are 2 large beams running along the centre of the loft from the 2 sides. now i know the sensible thing is not to just hack these down, but what are the options, as we did have a quote for a professional loft conversion, and they said it can be sorted, not i wanna sort it myself, what can i do? i have a few pictures too...
just email me at **************

looking at your roof setup, your options are limited to only very small people using the loft! the larger purlins are liked via props to the ceiling binders or summil beams and are kept in shape by the sprags linking purlin-purlin, none of which, i would advise you touch.
