Roof leaking , does this setup look wrong ?

I had my roof done approx 25 years ago , never been happy with it , I have a terraced house and the low level pitched roof joins the main building . Theres a leak , it's getting worse and worse and the bad weather this week had it leaking through the low level ceiling ( it's happened before , however not as bad as this )

I finally got the chance to get up and have a look , this flashing looks wrong to me , surely the flashing should curve around to meet the roof tiles , whats happening on mine is the the flashing that's coming out of the brickwork only goes down about six inches and then stops and they've put another bit of flashing at a right angle the goes under the tiles , can I solve this by adding another skirt on the existing piece coming from the brickwork and folding it at an angle over the tiles or putting some thick sort of sealant in the gap that's currently filled with moss?

Whilst it doesn't appear to be wrong - i.e. you have a soakered abutment with a cover flashing - it depends how they have done the soakers. The soaker at the end is wrong. Soakers should alays be covered by the cover flashing.

OP,
You have soakers which is correct for those tiles - although the pitch seems to be too shallow?
You need to lift (ie. fold it up) the stepped cover flashing - doing that will expose the actual tile abutment and the soaker upstands.
At the moment it looks as though some kind of secret gutter has been attempted? Then post a pic on here?

Pic first but it might be necessary to lift the vertical row of abutting tiles to clean out the debris, & sort out the soakers.
Dont go using any kind of sealant.

Where soakers appear to be fitted, it doesn't mean they are fitted correctly.
The black mastic can't be helping, anything
The pitch is way to low and no trays fitted .

So I've lifted some of the flashing up , just about the first foot and I can see that behind it the bricks literally have no mortar in them , I haven't inspected further , however it looks as if the wood lis likely to be a lintel , I'm assuming this is the problem , what ill have to do is remove all of the flashing , re point it all and then replaced the flashing.

How much overlap is there on the soakers ?
They are not looking quite right

OP,
The step cover flashing angle has been cut wrong - its too acute, & the bottom edge is too low. The step flashing needs replacing.
The soakers are incorrectly fitted but a pic of some of the soakers with their slates removed will show more, & help us to offer further advice?
Check for a roofing membrane?
The timber might be a lintel over a knock-thro opening but there's no signs of cavity trays?

Its usual for Soaker upstands to be approx 60 - 80mm high and slate cover to be 100mm wide - thus, soakers are typically 180mm wide.
Step flashing only covers the upstand not the slate.
