Hello
We're having an extension done on the front of our house, the existing hallway currently gets most of its light through the front door that will now be the porch. We're aware that unless the porch is bright than our hallway will get duller. Whilst we've got a fair few windows, we're planning to have a rooflight fitted in the porch to make it as bright as possible.
The rooflight would be on the north side of the house, so often in the shade. We're worried about it looking dirty, getting green with mildew, mould, moss, etc.
The builder has suggested a Korniche one, which should be installed at a 3-5% angle. AI has suggested that this isn't enough for the self cleaning to work. Speaking to the manufacturer they swear blind it works great (but they would, wouldn't they?).
I wondered if anyone has any experience of low level rooflights or similar and what their thoughts were please?
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
