roof line cement job advice sought

Hi

Had roof line cemented by myself(amateur diy) approximately 2yrs ago and bit by bit most of it cracked and fallen out.
Obviously something wrong went with in material choice...any advice what to use this time to make it stick together well? cement + adhesive?

any advice would be very appreciated

The mortar is too thin!

The verge should be pointed in the same muck it was bedded up in. Not seperate mixes on seperate days.
So you bed the verge and pointed it in one session.

pointing as per your photo will all ways fail the original muck looks dead anyway.. The same applies to ridge.

You need to rake the old mortar out mate, or at least rake a good inch out. Mix some PVA in your mortar mix and spray the old stuff wet with a spray before you slap the new stuff over it.
