Just had a bit of roof work done near the ridge. The replacement modern concrete tiles about 2 of them have slightly chipped corners at the bottom. The scaffolding is still in place and the tiles can't be seen from the ground at the moment. My other half went on the scaffolding to have a close look and saw it.

It probably won't affect watertightness but it's really annoying me that a roofer would do this.

What is accepted practice ?

What do you mean chipped? Roof tiles will valiantly continue to do their job, even is they are not shiny and painted.

Are the tiles missing bits of material? Or is this cosmetic 'chipping'?

I am no roofer but that wouldn’t worry me.
If I was fitting that and spotted it, I’d maybe put it aside but there may be loads done by the time it was spotted?
Changing one can be tricky
