Room above garage - adding insulation without breaking up floor?

We have a cold room above a garage and just installed new laminate floors installed (just bought the house in the summer). I don't know what insulation i in there (house built 1997).

I don't want to break up the new floor but the garage ceiling is plastered. Would it make any sens to add insulation to the garage ceiling? And how would I best do this?
