Hi
I seen a room being divided using a metal frame. It look quite easy to use.
Can any one tell me the correct name so I can investigate futher.
Cheers

I've never worked out how door frames fit into these, as the wall is only 75mm wide and yet a typical door lining is 100mm

they may sell a casing set up similar to the paramount walling equivalent complete with architraves moulded in with the casing.

Plasterboard both sides = 100mm woody, its all they use on our site at the mo

F49h,
It is easy to use, but be very careful because when its grabbed wrong it is sharp as ****
A boy had to be rushed to hospital a couple of weeks before Christmas on my site, as it sliced straight through the tendons in his fingers
:(

Oh yes, I notice that the Lafarge system is 75mm studs.

But in all of the merchants near me that stock this stuff, it is 50mm steel channels. It seems cheaper, easier and quicker than using timber, but this thing with door linings has put me off.

In the literature it always shows a partition without any doors, and it is just one layer of plasterboard each side - so must be about 75-80mm thick partition. Also, there are never any thinner door linings next to this stuff on the shelves - which implies that you have to spend time ripping a normal lining down

LOL, what do you think happens to all British companies?

Its foreign owned now - by Saint Gobain of France

^woody^, you were right in thinking the overall wall thickness is 75mm. if you read the thread i posted, ref lafarge, it clearly states using 44mm metal studs plus plasterboard.

oddly though it also states the use of 15mm plasterboards?
