I thought you’d established that the boiler switch wasn’t calling for heat, so it would make either thermostat appear faulty.My best guess is that the new thermostat is faulty. I’ll be able to check this on Monday - I’ll take it home and see if it works in my place.

No.you could try swapping the yellow and red wires if you wanted

Yes, fair enough. Apologies.The old stat would work if the yellow and red were the wrong way round, the new one wouldn't however
Yes, sorry. Too early for me.The N1 will be connected to the Valve and/or Boiler wherever they are.
The supply does not run through the thermostat.
