Help! I'm replacing 2 ceiling roses on a loop circuit with spots. When power back on, spot 1 which has one L.N,E connection cannot be turned off. Should one of the L in spot 2 sit with the switched live cable? Any help appreciated.

Yes, it certainly appears that way!
You have almost certainly inadvertantly connected the no. 1 spot live to the loop live of spot 2, instead of the switched live

Thanks v. much. Without wanting to seem totally useless, is there an easy way of finding out which is the L from spot 1 to add to the switched L connection of spot 2 - do I just try each L in turn until it works?
Appreciate your reply.

ensuring the power is off-
diss each one in turn until spot 1 loses it's live.

(it could also be done with a continuity meter- if you have one-
again ensuring the power is off, and connecting one end to L at spot 1 and the other to each Live at spot 2 until you get continuity), although with this method your leads may not reach!)
