Router use for groove cutting.

I want to route a channel in the centre of one long edge of my new door. Does one route from left to right or right to left or doesn't it matter with this type of cut?

depends on whether your using a fence or a strait edge or a bearing cutter

bearing cutter left to right

plunge cutter and fence left to right if the fence is facing you or underneath

if you have a strait edge on the far side off the router left to right
if you have a strait edge between you and the router right to left
