Hi again,

I'm wondering how best to route some ring-circuit cables below a ground floor. I'm aware of regs regarding where you can/cannot drill and route when routing across the line of the joists. However, what if the joists are raised above the foundations? Is it possible to suspend the cable underneath the joists to avoid drilling holes? If so then has anyone got any tips and Is this allowable in the regs?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Yes. Don't drill needless holes.

Route the cables under the joists, clipping them at the prescribed intervals.

Is there much room to work under there? Would it be better to run them in oval conduit fixed to the joists with saddle clips in case you should ever need to pull them out, or would going back under the floor be a doddle?

Also, do you need to consider protecting the cables against vermin?

Thanks for that idea ban-all-sheds. It thinks thats what I'll do as it will make the whole thing easier to do and neater.

Thanks again,

Mike
