Routing of main equipotential bonding wires

What are the rules for routing the earth conductor from where the water pipe enters the house to the CU. Does it have to be in conduit, in a safe zone, or can I just cable tie the earth wire along my existing water pipe as it runs right past the CU anyway.

No rules as such AFAIK. It's normally just clipped.

No rules - clipped or conduit - depends what you like the look of.

If you clip it along the water pipe leave a bit of slack so the cable can be removed away from the pipe should the pipe need to repaired or modified.

Got pulled for this by NIC assessor "although not against any regulation NIC dont like to see it" (his words not mine) .
I had cable tied the bonding to the water pipe inside the airing cupboard.
