As part of refurbing my kitchen I'm running some cables in preparation for the electrician and a little confused as to how/where I can run the cables to under cupboard lights before cupboards are fitted.

I had planned to chase out the existing plaster to the same level as the bottom edge of the wall cupboards, drop a cable through conduit from the ceiling then plaster over leaving the end exposed ready to be wired to the light. But it occurred to me that this may not meet the regs on permitted cable runs.

So how should it be done? Can't seem to find any advice online and the regs aren't clear to me.

Advice appreciated

Why not just ask your electrician that you're preparing for what he'll be happy with?
