running water from toilet bowl

hi can anyone help i have just had a new toilet installed with a push button flush. it has been fine for a few weeks but now its got a constant stream of water running from the rim how can i solve this problem.

Hi,
This happened to my cistern and I found that the end of the plastic chain that lifts the flapper valve had got under the valve so that it could not shut after a flush. I trimmed the spare bit off and that solved it.

its overflowing!!!! presume that the valve is plastic... (if its new) so the diaphragm aint likely to be worn out.... has it been fitted properly????? sometimes if the valve aint straight the float can play up??? have you tried adjusting the valve???? just guesses...
