Rusty rendering

Hi Everyone

I have a large arched window installed about 7 years ago & all the rendering is coming away & the steel support is corroded.

What is the consensus on what I should do here? Any advice much appreciated. Is there an outdoor edging strip I need to use?

You could chop away the render around the steel support, treat the rust, and re render. Presumably the damaged render has caused the corrosion by exposing the steel to the elements.
