Note: the nailer works by compressing air, so the motor type is irrelevant.
The brushed motors work fine, you wont get £140 worth of benefits from brushless

18 Gauge and I think it probably just went into the plaster, without penetrating the blocks behind it. I've got plaster straight on to blocks in this propertywas it through plaster into wood??
18 or 16 gauge??
thanks for the feedback![]()
No bending or block-up's. A couple didn't pull the skirting in but on a number of occasions, I could see that the nails pulled the board tight.ok thanks thats interesting
did any nails "complain" stop short or bend when going in
by complain i mean kickback at all or sound different??
How’s it been going since? No bending or block-up's. A couple didn't pull the skirting in but on a number of occasions, I could see that the nails pulled the board tight.
I used it extensively for skirting and architrave. It was magical. Made the job so much easier and the pins always went in to a perfect depth. Bit of filler and the jobs a goodun. I was using the makita adapter and battery and it lasted a very very long time with a 5amp battery. Very happy with this purchase. How’s it been going since?
in my humble opinion the nail gun with small heads will never actually "pull " anything as the resistance off the head is so minimal that it cant impart enough "pull" to move things tightUPDATE - I used my new Ryobi Nailer with the skirting this weekend and can report that it does pin the skirting to the plaster. In a few places it. visibly pulled the skirting in. Pleased with that![]()
Thanks - as a follow up - Does it sink the nail under the surface of softwood ok? Is the depth/pressure setting useful? it has both power [big dial on top ]and depth control the depth control is by moving the shoe up and down on the nose with fine adjustment to leave pin head proud or sunkThanks - as a follow up - Does it sink the nail under the surface of softwood ok? The YT review by the proper diy bloke says adjusting the compressed air dial on the top makes no difference- is your experience different?it has both power [big dial on top ]and depth control the depth control is by moving the shoe up and down on the nose with fine adjustment to leave pin head proud or sunk
I've not tried on hardwood but it sinks it nicely into skirting in architrave. The setting allows you to vary the depth. I've had it set to just below the surface and its worked every time. Requires a tiny but of filler afterwards.it has both power [big dial on top ]and depth control the depth control is by moving the shoe up and down on the nose with fine adjustment to leave pin head proud or sunk
