Sagging internal door

The bedroom door sticks. We moved in six months ago and it was fine but started after a few weeks. The screws had been driven in to the frame probably using an impact driver/electric screwdriver, then removed to take the door off to remove furniture and fixed back into place. They've definitely been disturbed at some point as they were painted over along with the door.

Initially I tightened the screws and it helped for a few weeks. I then took the screws from from the top hinge, wedged a few pieces of rawl plug in a couple of holes and re screwed the hinge. Door has been fine for four months. But it's started up again.

What options do I have?

take door off,and inspect the frame to see if it has started to split?

take out the bits of rawl plug you put in,and glue in either some used match sticks/cocktail sticks or some small dowell.
once dry pre drill holes and then rehang door.

There's no splitting that I can see. The screws now just turn and turn. I'll try matches/cocktail sticks first.

Size permitting you could also use a slightly larger gauge screw. Gregers advice is ideal, I split scrap timber with a chisel or stanley knife to form 'plugs' for the existing screw holes with a touch of wood glue.
