Sainsburys

So the shareholders are also the CEO and managers? If they have managerial control over the company, then they are not very racist.
If they don't then it's irrelevant. Hard to stop people investing in companies. Unless you support communism, of course. Are you a commie?

What ever but there biggest share holder the gulf state has been accused by the UN of being racist

Practising structural racial discrimination through a de facto caste system based on national origin under which
Europeans North Americans Australians
And Arabs systematically enjoy greater human rights protections than South Asian and African nationalities

This inclusive retailer has no objections to the regime that is by far there largest share holder

Best they put there own house in order prior to occupying the moral. High ground

Whatever ... as I said, a company on the stock market cannot stop investors buying shares. They can stop an investor taking a controlling shareholding, by forcing a takeover, but cannot stop somebody buying shares.

Qatar is not "there own house" - it's a shareholder. If you have enough money you can buy shares in whatever you want, within reason. Doesn't mean your beliefs, opinions and politics are passed on to the company.

Are you suggesting that Sainsburys should adopt the culture of the Qatar state, rather that Britain, because of one shareholder?

Jeez us wept

Than again no surprise tbh

Party member ;)

Party member? What, the capitalist party?

I never realized you were a socialist/ communist. Do you disagree with all forms of investment, or just the global economy?

I hope you are aware of all the other investments Qatar, and many other foreign countries, make in the uk. Or do you think it's just Qatar that invested do in the uk?

I think you'll find the Russia, China and the USA all invest in uk companies, and all have a long history of recism. You should boycott every ftse company just to be safe.

You'd better get an allotment, maybe you can get one next to Corbin.

Trevor McDonald was on ITV, that just shows how racist BBC was.
Used to have a friend who had a rather nasty racist father...

He was having a rant in another room whilst we were watching TV, and the news came on...

He then said about the newsreader, " now you wouldn't ever hear a ****** speaking the 'queen's english' like that...

Thought he was having a heart attack when he walked into the room and saw McDonald reading the news!

PS. McDonald did work for the BBC btw...

That's because there is nothing to see. Just hyped up by people that don't actually understand what they actually did. It's just about them being open about their company policy. They are not doing anything different from many other companies in the UK today, they just chose to state it on their website. There has been a long culture in businesses in the UK (and many other countries!) of ignoring racism in the workplace. Black people have been sidelined, paid less, given worse jobs, and when they have been the victim of racism, have been ignored and had their complaints disregarded. Sainsburys, like many other companies, are just saying, we are equal, and if you experience racism, there is support and we will not tolerate it.

Not really so bad, is it? I don't think it will affect your shopping experience in any way!

Equal is all I ask!
I went through Qatar last year had a couple of good chats with the Philippino's working there and by the sound of it Qatar is a very racist country. Spoke with a Philippino at the hospital this week who confirmed this while saying his working life in Dubai was a good experience but experienced far more racism than he does hear. Spoke very highly of us, all be it he has had racism hear.

Your constant accusing people of being racist is the most damaging, in your eyes it seems that is as simple as most people who voted Brexit is a racist and remainers are not at all racist. Keep going and you will convince more and more good people that they are actually Racist.

Spread the hate Jon>>>>>>

Haven't we all had one of those.
Till this day I think Trevor and Moira have been amongst the best ever News reporters. How could anyone have a problem with anything they do or in how they presented themselves.
Today I like Julie and Mary on ITV. Naga I think is Great unlike the wet soppy male presenters she sits along on the BBC, Charlie being the best out of a wet sloppy bunch.
Nina is good Alastair is too. To many to name. They all have one thing in common and that is the all speak awfully well.
What about Ugly people don't get many of them reading the news, do we need more ugly ones.
Why have we not got more Chinese, Australian or American news readers.

Just a early morning thought.

Your constant accusing people of being racist is the most damaging,

Apart from Laurence Fox, who said and wrote some things that could be interpreted as being racist, who have I accused of being racist? Sorry if my words above were interpreted as calling somebody racist, but that is not my intention. Just saying that I don't think Sainsburys is doing anything wrong, in fact, doing a good thing to promote equality - and that as with every other company floated on the stock market, they cannot control who invests in their shares.
