Salt mill rusted solid

I have a glass looking (probably plastic) salt and pepper mill.

They are both empty but the screw-in knob on top of the salt mill is rusted solid probably from previous salt.

Can anyone tell me how to unscrew it please?

bit of plus gas on the fitting, then grab it with pliers would be how I'd sort it.

It's a paraffin based penetrating oil....as advised, give the thing a good drenching and try to turn the top to and fro.
There's a reasonable chance the thing may crack, of course.

If salt has corroded it to the point of rusting it belongs in the bin.

Plusgas:

WD40 might do if you have that already.
