Yes I resolved the issue. Having identified that it was a faulty relay, I took it back to the supplier. Unforutnately they didn't have anymore in stock, so I paid a bit extra and got the Honeywell version. I must say it seems to be a better piece of kit, worked first time and hasn't missed a beat since installing it.
So I replaced the wireless WB as it was, er, rubbish and get losing sync, with a Salus which didn't work out of the box, and now have a Honeywell.
