Salus rt500rf thermostat not working

I just changed the batteries of the thermostast but the screen is completely blank, , tried to press the reset button but nothing happens??? any info would be appreciated!

Maybe battery connections loose. Make sure batteries are seated properly and touching terminals.

Sounds silly but batteries could be the wrong way round?

Never had a problem with a Salus stat
