Can I use a SQ610RF Salus Quantum thermostat without any other device to control a boiler?
When I switch it on it tries to communicate with other devices; and I cannot open the menu for other options. I just want to use it to replace an analogue thermostat. I do not want to buy a Gateway.

If I connect the S1 and S2 wires first will it stop looking for other devices? If not I will have to return it and find an alternative. I do not want a 230V version; the internal battery with 1 year life before recharging is an improvement on other battery models.

Adice from anybody with actual experience welome; also recommendations for an alternative make/model.

Thankyou

Thankyou Ian. I will return the SQ610RF and buy a programmable Digital Thermostat which is a straight swap for the basic analogue one.

Cant remamber the name of the kit but salus do a kit that has both units in the same box, havent a clue about the difference in cost, I have installed one but I never bought it so dont know how much it cost, very easy install though

Thanks again. Yes, I have seen that; but as I said earlier; I do not want any additional devices; I also don't want to connect to the boiler controller via RF; and it is additional expense which I don't want to incur. I am looking at the Heatmiser-B as being more suitable.
Regards
