Samsung Washing Machine P1253 won't rinse properly or spin?

I have ensured that the debris filter has been cleaned and the waste outlet hose is clear. At present I am emptying the water using the 'emergency' valve and rinsing in the bath. Any thoughts to fix the problem? Thank you

Do you get an error code?...Does the pump actually run?
Try emptying the machine, leave the filter out & put the machine on drain. Do you see or hear the pump running?

Thank you, The error code is 5E. The debris filter is clean and waste pipe clear. Do you mean leave the debris filter out, and let the water drain through the small rubber pipe, (into a container of course.)

5E is a drain error. You need to confirm the pump is actually running...as per my last post. Don't use a wash program with the filter out...select a drain or spin cycle only (no clothes inside).

Thank you. I have done a rinse and spin with no clothes in. It spun to the end (about ten minutes) although no water appeared to enter the machine, which of course it does when I have previously tried a wash, rinse and spin, and then it seems to get stuck at the end of the wash cycle. I have tried at that point to do a separate rinse and spin and this did not work.
