Hi,

The wood-engineered floor in my front room has badly warped along three plank widths. I believe this is most likely because the original installers didn't leave enough expansion gap to the stone fireplace surround.

My plan is to cut half an inch of board out (or as much as is required for the warping to flatten plus excess) from around the stone fireplace surround - and fill with cork. Does this seem sensible?

A circular saw will no doubt leave a messy edge so would a floorboard saw be the best tool?

Ta.
