Saxo rear window problems

The rear window demister stopped working recently, the light comes on when I press the button, but it doesn`t clear the steam, i`ve checked all of the fuses and connectors and they are fine. Its a 98 S reg Saxo X mk1 (the one with the hairdryer under the bonnet!) Can someon please help, i`m clueless!

you need to check the connections on the rear window and see if you have power there.
if you have the element in the window has had it but if not start by checking the wiring where it comes from the car to the tailgate.
Has the rear wiper packed in as well ??

I`ve checked the connections on the window and the rear wiper works fine, so I guess the elements packed in, or is there a relay somewhere that could have failed?

If you've got a multimeter or failing that a 12v bulb, put it across the contacts to the element at the rear window. If you've got power there it's the element, if no power start working back.
