hello

I moved into a property with this alarm panel system a few months ago. I assumed the panel was disarmed/deactivated as i'd never entered any codes and it never gone off when i arrived/left the property.

however, today it randomly went off and entering the code from the previous owner on the panel did nothing to stop it - (typed in the code and pressed the enter key- assuming that's correct?) Turning off all the power in the house did nothing to stop the alarm either

i was at a loss at this point and conscious of the neighbours so i rang the company number on the external alarm unit (WJ Electrical) who said it would be £185 weekend callout plus any repair fees. luckily while i was thinking about paying this the alarm spontaneously stopped sounding.

however, i'm now worried about it randomly going off again and what i can do. on the keypad panel now it has a few flashing red lights which i have no idea what that means.

i can't currently locate the master panel - is my best immediate bet to find that & figure out how to turn the whole system off? then find an engineer to come and service it without the weekend callout charge?

Default code is 1234 …Find panel ….replace battery ….default panel and re program

Thanks for the response! When the alarm was going off I did try 1234 but that did nothing either. Do you need to press anything after the numbers? I tried the enter button & the button that has a house symbol but didn't have any joy

I've been searching the house for the panel today but its nowhere to be seen - will have to ask the estate agent to see if they can ask the old owner.

When I was scanning the other threads I saw you popped up a lot - do you have any advice for if I decide to get rid of this completely & get a new one fitted on what I should look for?

Cheers!

Just code stops it ….not a bad little alarm but a bit dated now ( they still make it ) post picture of the keypad

It looked like this with the red lights flashing just after the alarm stopped sounding

now it has the red lights off

Sounds like a faulty battery issue and the electric has dipped out and restarted the panel…
