Last night when I got home from work the Scantronic keypad was not lit up and not functioning at all. The control panel does not have a keypad so there was no way for me to cancel the alarm.

I flipped fuse off on main fuse box (as alarm on separate circuit) but alarm kept ringing. I opened the control panel and disconnected the battery. This stopped the alarm noise internally but it kept ringing from outside box for approx 20 minutes before stopping.

Alarm has been installed since we moved into house from new around 11 years ago and has never required any previous maintenance.

Does this sound like a faulty keypad which may need to be replaced or something else ?

Probably faulty battery check all pcb fuses if ok , remove bell + in panel , put power back on mains only ...now see if keypad is live ...if won’t turn off with your code try 1234
