Scantronic Door Sensor Failure

A few years ago I fitted a Scantronic 500r+ alarm system which I now understand has been superseded.

The 535r door sensor seems to have developed a fault i.e. the red LED stays lit when the batteries are changed and the system will not allow a reset.

Has the unit failed or could be that it needs to be relearned?

I would appreciate any help

Is it the red led on the contact that wont go out or the zone led on the control unit for that contact.

With you saying the system will not allow a reset i would first delete the contact from the system. Then make sure the system resets ok and switches on / off etc . It does sound like a faulty contact as the led should only come on when transmitting its signal to the control unit.
