I was wondering what you guys use to fill in the small scars and imperfections that are "sometimes" found in the skim coat once it's dried out. I know in a perfect world there shouldn't be any left , but sometimes the odd one can be missed.

Cool thanks, I'll give that a go. Does it come in a tub premixed? Or a powder? Should I wet the area before applying it? Can you trowel it in?

Again thanks.

best to mist coat the wall first then u can see any imperfections better , apply the easifill leaving it slightly pround no wetting is needed, once dry sand down with a finegrade sandaper, not to hard as easifill is real easy to sand, it comes in bags http://www.british-gypsum.com/produ...ries/gyproc_accessories/gyproc_easi-fill.aspx or you can get this which is pre mixed http://www.a1building.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=97 but if i was you i would go for the powder as it last longer
"EDIT" you can trowel it on or use a flexible scraper

Thanks for the info! One last question when sanding what's the best grade to start/finish with without leavng marks in the plaster?

I prefer to scrape it smooth before fully hard with a wide metal scraper. Any abrasive paper will try to leave scratches the size of the grit particles.

Yeah I use a block, don't want any grooves or hollows. Thanks again guys.

british gypsum say 120 grit I think, it does say on the bag

I always used 120 grit, once you get the high parts off it wears quite nicely to get a smooth finish
