I really dont like the look of the cable box sat on the shelf under my TV and HiFi.

The TV and HiFi are both a matching silver colour, whereas the Telewest box is an ugly black thing. What I would like to do is hide the telewest box somewhere else and run a long SCART or SVideo cable back to the TV. However I also really hate seeing cables running around the room [picture a minimalist look, wood floors, glass shelves, etc - I dont want a thick black cable spoiling it!]. Once the Telewest box is hidden I plan to control it with a universal radio remote.

The question I have is if anyone knows where to get flush wall mounted SCART or SVideo sockets and the cables to connect them? I would like to run the cable in the wall then under the floor with the RF and phone cables, then have a nice neat socket to plug the TV into.

any good electrical wholesalers should be able to sort you out.

Scart will give a better picture quality than s-video. It is possible to get flat scart leads which may be easier to hide.
Here's a web forum that's dedicated to all things AV. They might have the info you're looking for.

Not that I'm in any way, knocking this forum.
Oh dear, can of worms!

Hope it helps.
