I've got a question about screed. Can it be powerfloated for a nice finish and if so how long after sticking it down do you have at it?

Don't say 'you should get a professional in'. I know I should get a professional in but that would be a lot less interesting.

Also, on the same subject - seems to be some disagreement about mixing screed on site in a mixer. Any tips? Would get readymix but the site is 50m from the road down a little alley so barrowing it is an arse.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I don't think you can powerfloat screed as the consistency and drying is different to concrete. The blades would probably gouge the screed up in lumps. And it would not be flat in any case.

Damp the sand before it goes in the mixer, rather than adding water to the mix
