Screwing in Surrey Flange

Hi,
Has anyone had trouble threading a Surrey Flange onto the cylinder because the copper down tube is too far over to allow the thread to start?

If so, how did they get around the problem?

no can't say i've come across the problem.
i've got one here and the tube sits close but not enough to cause a prob.
have you a pic ?

I have no pic at present, I tried 2, both the same!

The thread into the cylinder is quite long, maybe 40mm!

still abit stuck to how it is a problem
i've just tried mine in one and it screws straight in.

just checked mine and it has a good 3 mm between pipe and cylinder edge.

Hmmm, wonder if there are anyone else!

The thread is not touching the downtube but more an obsticle as you drop into the opening (thread to thread slightly offset) if you understand my meaning!

I thought it was a faulty flange until I sourced another one!

sounds like the tube is out of line to the thread.
will it not pull over slightly

I think that is the direction to go in, just did not want to break the soldered joint (pretty rigid)
