Seal off boss on soil pipe junction

I want to seal off the side boss in a soil pipe branch as it is no longer needed. The trouble is I can't find an end cap that will fit. I'm not sure what nominal size I should be looking for.

The branch is one of these Hunter S292:

My measurements of the side boss are: 51mm internal and 56mm external diameter. It's PVC.

I previously made a bad attempt to seal it with silicone but it is leaking:

As you can see in the photo there's a section of old pipe solvent welded to the outside of the boss (outer diam approx 63mm) so any end cap would have to fit over or inside that. Any end cap also can't stick out too far as there's a panel covering the whole thing (removed in the photo above). There's about 15mm gap between the front of the boss and the panel.

All ideas considered. Thanks.
